What is a catalytic converter and what does it do?
The catalytic converter (CAT) is part of the exhaust system that uses chemical reactions to convert harmful gases (CO, HC, NOx) into less harmful compounds. A properly working catalytic converter is a requirement for meeting EURO standards and passing the roadworthiness test.
